The Medical Model of Disability 

The Medical Model of Disability sees disability as a problem to be fixed and individuals with impairments as disordered (Olkin, R., 2022). 

Medical professionals diagnose and recommend treatments for these conditions to assist individuals with disabilities in better engaging in a society that is tailored to a specific majority group. This may involve prescribing medications or behavioral therapies to condition typical neurological behavior or tendencies.
